What is an adjustable underbelly buckle?

An optional underbelly buckle added to your harness provides added security in conjunction with the velcro. It secures the harness firmly. 

Adding an underbelly buckle may however make the harness fiddlier to put on as it closes on the underbelly side.  

If you wish to add a underbelly buckle please ensure you submit measurements in cms.

The Quick Fit Hug Me Harness has been designed to ensure that the body of the harness pulls away from the front legs of your dog to avoid any interference to their front leg gait.  Secured safely with a top quality adjustable side release buckle for closure at the front neck region.  Simply click open and closed for a secure fit.  Strong Velcro closure to the underbelly area.  Optional add on underbelly clip (Refer to diagram in listing showing add on optional underbelly buckle). 

WHY BUY A 2ROYALHOUNDS HARNESS?

Because of their unique body shape, Dachshunds are notoriously hard to fit in a comfortable, secure harness.

Ill fitting harnesses on dachshunds can potentially over time cause elbow dysplasia with long term use and can also be exacerbated if you have a dog that potentially likes to pull when walking.   This can affect their gait and over time may cause disruption to important ligaments and tendons and potentially cause their legs to bow.  Here at 2Royalhounds we have created the' Quick fit Hug Me' harness for Long Dogs with their gentle anatomy in mind.

Sizing Guide
Ensure your dog is standing UPRIGHT in the netural position. 
Simply wrap a tape measure around the mid-torso region away from the front legs and measure.  DO NOT place the tape measure directly behind the front legs where the chest is deepest.  Our harnesses are designed to ensure that front leg gait is not interfered with.  Not sure? Follow the diagram below.  
If you dont have a tape measure a piece of string can be used and then placed against a ruler for a measurement. 
Our harnesses are set sizing as follows:
SMALL – FITS 34 – 40cm 
approx weight 2.8kg - 5kg
MEDIUM – FITS 40 – 45cm
approx weight 5kg - 7.3kg
LARGE – FITS 46 – 50cm
approx weight 7.3kg - 10.5kg
XL  - FITS 51– 56cm
approx weight 10.5kg and greater.
Please note weights are approximate however measurement is most important as dogs can vary in size and weight.
If you are ordering an underbelly buckle please let us know your dogs measurement when ordering to ensure we add the underbelly buckle to fit securely. 

PLEASE NOTE AT TIME OF ORDERING THAT HARNESSES ARE PRE-CUT TO SIZING AND MADE UP ONCE AN ORDER IS PLACED.  PLEASE ALLOW FOR MAKING TIME.
SOME VARIATIONS IN SOME PATTERNS MAY ALSO OCCUR DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PRINT AND THAT THEY ARE ALL INDIVIDUALLY HANDMADE. 
Washing Instructions
All our fabrics used for our harnesses are pre-washed at 40 degrees before cutting to avoid any shrinkage. 
Your harness is best washed in a laundry bag with the velcro closed to prevent snagging.  Wash on a gentle cycle, up to 40 degrees, maximum. Regularly check the integrity of your harness for signs of wear and tear - alternating harnesses will help extend the life of your harness. 
Do not tumble dry.
