Sizing Guide
Measuring Your Dog for a Hug Me Harness™
To get the best fit for your dog:
- Make sure your dog is standing upright in a natural, neutral position.
- Wrap a tape measure around the mid-torso, a few centimetres behind the front legs (not directly behind them where the chest is widest).
- This ensures the harness won’t interfere with your dog’s front leg movement.
- No neck measurement is needed — the neck area of our Hug Me Harness™ is fully adjustable.
📏 Tip: If you don’t have a tape measure, use a piece of string and a ruler.

Shipping Policy
Orders are generally prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days but during busy periods may take longer.
Within Australia
Once prepared, all orders will be shipped by tracked postage via Australia Post. We will email you with your tracking details. Orders can be tracked on the Australia Post tracking system
Free shipping (standard only) is available for orders of over $180.
For orders under $180, postage costs are applied at checkout. As a guide, our current prices within Australia (as of 1st October 2025) are:

Return Policy
RETURNS & STORE CREDIT

CHANGE OF MIND = STORE CREDIT ONLY
We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change-of-mind returns.
Eligible returns receive STORE CREDIT ONLY, issued after your return has been received and inspected.
Store credit is emailed to you with a unique code and is valid for 12 months.
🐾 HOW TO RETURN
1. CHECK ELIGIBILITY
Returns must be lodged within 30 days of receiving your order.
Final Sale, Clearance, Sale/Discounted and Black Friday items are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
2. PREPARE YOUR ITEM
Items must be:
- Unworn and unwashed
- Free from dog hair
- In original, resaleable condition
- Returned with all tags attached
- In original packaging
A $5 re-tagging/repackaging fee will be deducted from your store credit if tags or original packaging are missing or damaged.
3. LODGE YOUR RETURN
All returns must be lodged through our Returns Portal.
4. SEND YOUR RETURN
If you selected Checkout+, your return label is provided at no cost.
Otherwise, return postage is your responsibility and will be deducted from your store credit.
5. RECEIVE YOUR CREDIT
Returns are inspected within 3–5 business days of arrival. Once approved, your store credit will be emailed to you.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) are not affected.
If your item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, contact woof@2royalhounds.com.au as soon as possible.
We will assess the issue and provide the appropriate remedy under the ACL, which may include a repair, replacement or refund.

Approved cancellations made before processing or dispatch are subject to a 5% cancellation fee for non-refundable transaction costs.

This is the first harness that has properly fit our dachshund. She has full range of motion for her legs, secure “hug” fit and two option to fasten her leash. It’s easy to get on and off. The material is excellent quality and the service and shipping to Canada was quick. A+
I would highly recommend this harness. Very easy and quick to put on my dachshund - no complicated buckles or straps. Doesn't appear to rub on his skin or cause discomfort.
The 2 harnesses I ordered came within a week of placing my order and our boys love them. I couldn’t find a harness that was comfortable for one of our boys (he has a very large cyst on his chest) making other harnesses uncomfortable. The harness is just perfect for him, he moves freely and I don’t have to worry about the harness hurting him in any way.

I have bought few harnesses for him and it's either choking him or chafing his legs. So glad to found out about the hug me harness. It fits him perfectly and so much easy to put on him. He seems happy too.
This design is specifically excellent for dachshunds. The wide belly strap provides great support, and the harness stays completely free of the dog's front legs, allowing for natural movement and no pressure on joints. After trying many different harnesses, I highly recommend this one!!

Very well constructed. My only concern is the material and Velcro under the belly gets pee splashed on it. Also be very careful to select the size after the color if not it will revert to XS.

Great style, perfect fit and good for all year round
We Love our Perfectly Precious Pink Hug Me Harness ! (All 3 of Them !)
Our dachshund is about 13lbs and we went with the size Medium. It fits her pretty well and I can tell she has much better mobility with this harness! No more harness rubbing into her arm pits! The neck strap is a little big/loose for her and we have it adjusted to the smallest setting. I do wish that the clasp was smaller in size on her tiny, thin neck.
My only complaint with this harness is that the velcro area doesn't get completely covered up when this is on her (when wrapped around it fits her at about halfway), so it rubs/catches her leash and our clothes whenever we pick her up if you're not very careful. Her leash now has all the fuzzies from getting stuck to the velcro - and I had to be careful not to wear my nicer shirts when I'm holding her with this harness on.
I decided to purchase a roll of 2" wide sew-on hook and loop velcro off of amazon, and then I cut off a small strip to cover the excess area of rough velcro that remains exposed when she's strapped in. This easily solved the issue, but this is the main reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. It would be great if a small strip of this could be included with each harness to prevent this issue.
Although pricey (we live in the US) this Hug Me Harness is by far the best fitting harness we've found to date. Hoping the quality is good and it lasts us a long while!
