ADD an extra underbelly buckle for your harness
An optional underbelly buckle added to your harness provides added security in conjunction with the velcro. It secures the harness firmly.
Adding an underbelly buckle may however make the harness fiddlier to put on as it closes on the underbelly side.
If you wish to add a underbelly buckle please ensure you submit measurements in cms.
Measuring your dog for a Cape
Your dog MUST BE STANDING in the neutral position with their head held naturally.
No sitting whilst measuring (this lengthens their backs).
You may need a second pair of hands to ensure you measure correctly especially if your dog is a wriggler.
If you don’t have a soft tape measure you can use a piece of string and then place it against a ruler to get the measurements.
Please ensure you follow the how to measure guide at all times to ensure you get the perfect fit for your dog’s cape.
Please note it is a customer’s responsibility to ensure that their dog’s measurements are given correctly. We do not offer an alteration or adjustment service or refund once coats are made and dispatched if wrong measurements were submitted.
If you have submitted the correct measurements and we get it wrong (we are human) then we will replace your cape for free on return of the original cape unworn with labels attached within 14 days.
Once your Cape is returned, we will re-measure it against your measurements submitted to see where we went wrong and if we got it wrong will either make you a new one with no charge to the customer subject to fabric availability or offer a full refund.
Measuring your dog for a Harness
Ensure your dog is standing UPRIGHT in the neutral position.
Simply wrap a tape measure around the mid-torso region away from the front legs and measure. DO NOTplace the tape measure directly behind the front legs where the chest is deepest. Our harnesses are designed to ensure that front leg gait is not interfered with. Not sure? Follow the diagram below.
If you don't have a tape measure a piece of string can be used and then placed against a ruler for a measurement.
Our harnesses are set sizing as follows:
- SMALL – FITS 34 – 40cm (approx weight 2.8kg - 5kg)
- MEDIUM – FITS 40 – 45cm (approx weight 5kg - 7.3kg)
- LARGE – FITS 46 – 50cm (approx weight 7.3kg - 10.5kg)
- XL - FITS 51 – 56cm (approx weight 10.5 kg and greater)
Please note weights are approximate however measurement is most important as dogs can vary in size and weight.
If you are ordering an underbelly buckle please let us know your dogs measurement when ordering to ensure we add the underbelly buckle to fit securely.
PLEASE NOTE AT TIME OF ORDERING THAT HARNESSES ARE PRE-CUT TO SIZING AND MADE UP ONCE AN ORDER IS PLACED. PLEASE ALLOW FOR MAKING TIME.
SOME VARIATIONS IN SOME PATTERNS MAY ALSO OCCUR DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PRINT AND THAT THEY ARE ALL INDIVIDUALLY HANDMADE.
Snuggle Sacks & Blankets
Pull inside lining out, wash on gentle cycle to 40 degrees maximum and do not use a fabric softener. Can line dry or tumble dry.
When washing your capes ensure you join the Velcro closure to prevent snagging during the washing cycle. These can be washed on a gentle wash cycle up to 40 degrees. Can line dry or tumble dry.
Collars can be washed when dirty. Collars can be either soaked and then hand washed or by a gentle machine cycle up to 30 degrees (quick wash). When washing collars, place into a small wash bag and only add a small amount of washing powder with an optional tablespoon for salt to prevent colour fade. Flatten to air dry. DO NOT tumble dry or dry clean collars.
The metal hardware of the dog collars can become corrosive if exposed to salt water at the beach. They can be worn to the beach however it is advised after each visit that they are washed after each use. This prevents corrosion of the metal hardware.
Maintenance of collars: Keep free from dirt, sand and grime and check daily for signs of wear and tear. Do not use any flea or worm treatment near the collars as this may cause damage.
Like any collar purchased they will wear and fade in time. Ensure to check daily for safety. The more you take care of them the longer they will last.
When ordering made to measure items, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure they have followed the ‘How to measure your dog’s guidelines. We cannot accept returns and or exchanges on items made to order based on incorrect measurements given by the purchaser. If your dog’s cape arrives and it does not fit, we also don’t offer an alterations service.
On the rare occasions where you have submitted the correct measurements and we get it wrong (we are human after all) then we will replace the cape for free on return of the original cape with labels attached within 14 days.
On return, we will re-measure it against your measurements submitted to see where we went wrong and if we got it wrong will either make you a new one with no charge to the customer subject to fabric availability or offer a full refund.
Please note we do not offer a refund on return postage costs unless we are at fault.
