ADD an extra underbelly buckle for your harness
An optional underbelly buckle added to your harness provides added security in conjunction with the velcro. It secures the harness firmly.
Adding an underbelly buckle may however make the harness fiddlier to put on as it closes on the underbelly side.
If you wish to add a underbelly buckle please ensure you submit measurements in cms.

How to measure for a Hug Me Harness
Our harnesses are set sizing as follows:
- XXS - PUPPY 28cm - 34cm
- SMALL – FITS 35cm – 40cm (approx weight 2.8kg - 5kg)
- MEDIUM – FITS 41cm – 45cm (approx weight 5kg - 7.3kg)
- LARGE – FITS 46cm – 50cm (approx weight 7.3kg - 10.5kg)
- XL- FITS 51cm – 56cm (approx weight 10.5kg and greater)
- XXL - FITS 57cm - 65cm (12kg and greater)
Measuring your dog for a Harness
Ensure your dog is standing UPRIGHT in the neutral position.
Simply wrap a tape measure around the mid-torso region away from the front legs and measure. DO NOTplace the tape measure directly behind the front legs where the chest is deepest. Our harnesses are designed to ensure that front leg gait is not interfered with. Not sure? Follow the diagram below.
If you don't have a tape measure a piece of string can be used and then placed against a ruler for a measurement.

- MEDIUM – FITS 41 – 46cm (approx weight 5kg - 7.3kg)

- XL - FITS 52 – 56cm (approx weight 10.5 kg and greater)
Please note weights are approximate however measurement is most important as dogs can vary in size and weight.
If you are ordering an underbelly buckle please let us know your dogs measurement when ordering to ensure we add the underbelly buckle to fit securely.

To assist customers with choosing the best fit for their dogs in the Royal Rompers summer range, here’s an easy-to-follow sizing guide. The measurements listed reflect the garment’s actual dimensions, so it’s important to measure your pet carefully to find the perfect match. Keep in mind that these rompers have some stretch, allowing for a slightly more relaxed or fitted appearance depending on your dog’s measurements. We have altered our pattern to lean towards a more leaner fit to ensure front legs do not come out.
Examples to Guide Your Choice:
• Lord Bruiser wears a Medium Long with the following measurements:
• Neck: 31 cm
• Chest: 47 cm
• Length: 40 cm
LB weight is 7.3kg.
• Princess Elle wears a Small with these measurements:
• Neck: 27 cm
• Chest : 42 cm
• Length: 35 cm
PE weight is 5.3 kg.

Measuring your dog for a All-In-One Puffer Cape
Our All-In-One Puffer Capes have been designed around the general sizes of dachshunds and their quirky anatomy. Please note that in some circumstances they may fit loosely depending on your own dogs shape and measurements within a size. Others it will fit firmly. The inbuilt harness buckle allows for some small adjustment within a few cms. This jacket has been designed for outdoor use only and is a slightly different pattern and fitting to our Royal Romper range. This is due to the puffer nature of the fabric and internal warm fleece lining and this garment does not have any stretch within it.
Please ensure you measure your dog carefully and correctly to ensure you buy the appropriate sizing as per the ranges below.
The most important measurement is the chest area firstly as this part of the coat is enclosed. Length and then neck. If you are unsure please email before purchasing.
Due to hygiene reasons we do not accept returns.

Orders are generally prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days but during busy periods may take longer.

Once prepared, all orders will be shipped by tracked postage via Australia Post. We will email you with your tracking details. Orders can be tracked on the Australia Post tracking system
Free shipping (standard only) is available for orders of over $180.
For orders under $180, postage costs are applied at checkout. As a guide, our current prices within Australia (as of 1st October 2025) are:

2RoyalHounds is not responsible for any missing, lost or stolen parcels. Please check you fill in your address correctly as any fees incurred for returned orders will be charged to the customer.
Return Policy
When ordering made to measure items, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure they have followed the ‘How to measure your dog’s guidelines. We cannot accept returns and or exchanges on items made to order based on incorrect measurements given by the purchaser. If your dog’s cape arrives and it does not fit, we also don’t offer an alterations service.
On the rare occasions where you have submitted the correct measurements and we get it wrong (we are human after all) then we will replace the cape for free on return of the original cape with labels attached within 14 days.
On return, we will re-measure it against your measurements submitted to see where we went wrong and if we got it wrong will either make you a new one with no charge to the customer subject to fabric availability or offer a full refund.
Please note we do not offer a refund on return postage costs unless we are at fault.
